Computing

Curriculum Overview

At WLSJ we provide children with a high quality computing education.  Children are taught about information, how digital systems work and how to programme.  Children use information technology to create a wide range of content.  Computing is taught for at least one hour per week as a standalone subject, but technology is used on a daily basis and is embedded throughout the curriculum.

Each class has its own bank of laptops (with one per child in upper Key Stage Two) and we share a bank of 30 iPads.  Children are taught how to use technology safely and responsibly.  All internet access is through the Lancashire Schools Portal.
