Stone cairn challenge

Forest School nature based challenge
Have you ever tried building a stone cairn?

A cairn is a man-made stack of stones found all over the World.
Whilst out on your daily walks (or maybe look in your garden), hunt out the perfect pebbles/stones. Flat stones are easier to balance or go for a mix of shapes and sizes if you want a challenge!

Can you stack them in order of size or change the structure of your cairn, such as using the smaller stones at the bottom? Does it still stand?

Good luck with your challenge!
If you are able to complete it, take a picture and send to your teachers through Dojo. I'd love to see them!

Well done to Oliver from Ladybirds who has completed the challenge. What a great cairn Oliver!
I have added his photographs for you to see.

Thomas, also from Ladybirds has had a go at the challenge. Great balancing Thomas!

Imogen from Eager Beavers has been busy in her garden with forest school activities. Lovely to see!

Oliver from Butterflies and his sister have been busy creating a cairn in their garden. And Oliver's drawing of a cairn is just amazing! Well done Oliver!

A big well done to Isla and James for completing the challenge too. It looks like you had fun!
