The day the Giant arrived!

Ladybirds and Butterflies had a very special visitor in their classroom. Someone left muddy footprints in the classroom, along with their boots! The children spent a long time measuring people’s feet to see who it could be. They decided it must be a giant as no one had feet the same size as the boots. They decided to create a trap for him that would be LONG enough and WIDE enough for him to fit in, BUT it did not work and he managed to escape AND take his boots with him. After some more investigating the children found glittery footprints at forest school and thought the giant had decided to live in our forest school shed. They wrote him lots of letters and even had Mrs Gardner buy him some chocolate! No one saw the giant until he visited Mrs Wilde in our office to bring us a card! Sadly, he left our school because he decided he was too TALL to fit into any of our buildings!

The children have really engaged with this story and learnt lots of mathematical vocabulary. It is really important that we continue to model this vocabulary at home and in school. Thank you for your support.
