Dark and Light Exploration

Class: Ladybirds and Butterflies Year: 2019 - 2020

The children are enjoying exploring the dark. We have created a dark den. We have torches, coloured lights and shiny materials. The children are using lovely vocabulary to describe their experiences.

We have created an additional calming area of the classroom with a mermaid castle. This area was designed entirely by the children. It has a talking sun, mermaid castle, ferocious waterfall and a witches castle.

We are currently converting our reading area into a bedroom where children will be encouraged to read bedtime stories and to discuss and encourage the importance of a good bedtime routine.
